Social action projects are planned to take place for schoolchildren. Whilst later in the life-course, university students would be required to take compulsory civic service, and jobseekers age 18-24 will be able to claim jobseeker allowance whilst carrying out civic service.

The plans will be put forward by the thinktank Demos, who have just published ‘Service Nation’ which explores civic service across an individual’s life.
